Wage & Hour Claims

Many employers try to take advantage of their employees by cheating them out of their hard earned pay to gain an economic advantage. Many of these employers also use their power to discipline and terminate to retaliate against any employees that make claims for unpaid wages and/or unpaid overtime. If you believe that your employer is cheating you out of pay contact Brian J. Graber, Ltd., at (312) 291-4648 for a free consultation to learn more about your rights.

The minimum wage in the State of Illinois is $8.25 per hour for workers 18 years of age and older. Unless an employee is exempt, the Fair Labor Standards Act and the Illinois Minimum Wage Law requires employers in Illinois to pay their employees at least $8.25 per hour.

Unless an employee is exempt, the Fair Labor Standards Act and the Illinois Minimum Wage Law requires employers to pay their employees one and one-half times their regular hourly wage for all hours worked beyond forty hours in one week.

If your employer cheated you out of pay, you may have a cause of action for the unpaid wages and for liquidated damages. If you believe you were cheated out of wages call Brian J. Graber, Ltd., for a free consultation at (312) 291-4648 to learn more about your rights.

RETALIATION:

If you believe that your employer retaliated against you for making claims for unpaid wages and/or overtime, you may have a claim for retaliation in addition to a claim for unpaid wages and/or overtime. If you were terminated for making a complaint about unpaid wages contact Brian J. Graber, Ltd., for a free consultation at (312) 291-4648 as soon as possible to learn more about your rights.
